Yellow Belt Update

The Krav Maga Santa Cruz Yellow Belt class is underway, and the athletes are doing an awesome job! The combination of training at CrossFit Amundson, along with the weekly Warrior Yoga, has greatly accelerated the learning curve of the entire class. The first two weeks have been devoted to learning the foundational Krav Maga combative series, including Hammer Fists, Elbows, and A-Frame Kicks. Plus, a lot of stress and conditioning drills!

Yellow Belt Series starts March 14, 2017!

For the first time in Santa Cruz County, a formal Yellow Belt in Krav Maga, in accordance with Krav Maga Worldwide and the FORCE Training Division, will be offered through Krav Maga Santa Cruz. The Yellow Belt is the foundational level in the journey to more advanced levels of Krav Maga. Check out the flyer for additional details!

Warrior Yoga


Warrior Yoga is now available at Krav Maga Santa Cruz on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This extraordinary class is designed to strengthen the mind, body and spirit, while enhancing focus, concentration and inner peace. Martial Arts Circuit Training (MACT)


The new Martial Arts Circuit Training program at Krav Maga Santa Cruz and CrossFit Amundson is AWESOME! This new workout is perfect for Martial Artists interested in a conditioning program that will enhance their combat conditioning. The workout is applicable for all systems of Self Defense, from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to Krav Maga. The new workout is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Krav Maga Santa Cruz. We highly recommend Athletes stay for Warrior Yoga from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Santa Cruz Sentinel


Krav Maga Santa Cruz and CrossFit Amundson founder and Chief Instructor Greg Amundson was recently featured on the front page of the Santa Cruz Sentinel Newspaper! Our new Krav Maga program, modeled after Greg’s experience teaching in the Krav Maga Worldwide FORCE Training Division, is now open for enrollment. Regular class times are Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with mostly seminars taking place on the weekend. Phase A Graduates

Congratulations to our new Krav Maga Phase A Graduates. Following 4 months of training and a brutal 2 hour Test, these amazing Athletes successfully passed on Phase A Program. Phase A Test – February 2015

The Krav Maga Phase A Test is scheduled for Wednesday, February 25, 2015, from 6:15 PM to 8:15 PM. Test review and make-up classes are scheduled for February 21 and February 22 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Please be sure to attend classes during the month of February to prepare physically and mentally for the test. Make-up testing will be considered on a case by case basis.

Jiu Jitsu

Jiu Jitsu is coming to Krav Maga Santa Cruz


World renowned Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black-belt Garth Taylor, owner of Kaijin Mixed Martial Arts in Santa Cruz, will be teaching Jiu Jitsu at Krav Maga Santa Cruz three days a week. Current Krav Maga Santa Cruz Athletes can enroll into Jiu Jitsu for $35.00 a month. Cross-training in Jiu Jitsu is strongly recommended. Phase A – October Test

Congratulations to our Phase A Krav Maga Athletes on a grueling three months of training in both CrossFit and Krav Maga. The Phase A Test is scheduled for October 29, 2014, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Family and friends of Krav Maga Santa Cruz Athletes are welcome to attend this special event. The next Phase A class will begin in mid-November, 2014. Be sure to sign up at CrossFit Amundson. One month of training at CrossFit Amundson is required before enrollment.


Luke completes FORCE Training Division Certification


Congratulations to Luke who successfully completed the rigorous Krav Maga FORCE Training Division Certification Course. FORCE Division specializes in training Military and Law Enforcement Operators and is regarded as “Pure Krav Maga”. Luke will be joining the Team of Instructors at Krav Maga Santa Cruz. Luke brings a wealth of knowledge and credibility from an extensive career in Military and Law Enforcement Operations. Awesome job Luke!


Summer Phase A begins in July


Welcome to the Krav Maga Santa Cruz Phase A summer class. Phase A meets Monday and Wednesday nights from 7:15 to 8:00 PM. Training includes KravFIT conditioning workouts, combatives, Self Defense and Weapon Defense training, as well as the development of the Warrior Spirit. In October 2014, Phase A practitioners who missed no more than 5 classes will be eligible to test for Phase B.

Phase A will include:

Elbow Series 1 – 7
Straight Punches
Straight Kick and A Frame Kick
Knee Strikes
Handgun Defense Rear
Long-Gun Defense Rear
Stick Defense Baseball Swing
Self Defense Against Standing Chokes – Front, Side, Rear
Break-Fall, Forward and Backward Rolls

In addition to Personal Defense, Phase A will include a heavy emphasis on KravFIT workouts, and the development of a durable, resilient and strong body and spirit. A pre-reequite for enrollment into Phase A is three months of CrossFit training at CrossFit Amundson.
